Agen Kolar was a Zabrak Jedi Master of the Old Republic who fought in the Clone Wars. Agen Kolar hailed from Iridonia and grew to become one of the finest Jedi Masters of the Order. As a Jedi Master, Agen Kolar was not well known for his skills in diplomacy. Instead, Master Kolar was a skiled swordsman and preferred to settle disputes with aggressive negotiations. Before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Agen Kolar took Tan Yuster as his Padawan. When the Jedi traveled to Geonosis to stop the Separatists and their droid armies, Agen Kolar and his apprentice joined the Jedi task force led by Mace Windu.

Sadly, Tan Yuster died in the execution arena on Geonosis, and Master Kolar never took another Padawan. After Geonosis, the Clone Wars engulfed the galaxy and Agen Kolar thrust himself right into the midst of the war. While many Jedi questioned the Jedi's role as generals of the Republic army, Agen Kolar had no patience for such dissension in the Jedi Order. When Jedi Master Eeth Koth was killed on Geonosis, Agen Kolar was appointed to the Jedi Council to replace Master Koth. As a council member, Master Kolar personally led many missions to battle the Separatist forces during the Clone Wars.

At the Battle of Brentaal IV, the Jedi and Republic forces battled Separatist commander Shogar Tok for access to the Perlemian Trade Route. Agen Kolar joined Jedi Master Shaak Ti in leading Republic ground forces while Jedi Master Plo Koon coordinated landing the Republic vessels from orbit. However, shielded ion cannons prevent reinforcements from reaching Masters Kolar and Ti, who are forced to make due with their ground forces. Separated from Master Kolar, Shaak Ti sought refuge in a local prison where she found Quinlan Vos in solitary confinement under the guise of his undercover identity. Vos had traveled to Brentaal IV in order to do reconnaissance for the mission but his cover was blown and he was imprisoned.
